Hi! We're considering reservations for the Fantasmic Dining Package on an 11/2012 trip. Only the Brown Derby is available & we have 2 toddlers, 4 & 2. Are kid-friendly prix-fixe meals an FDP option at HBD? What's the cost for kids? Is it worth it?

Hi Dalin! I am actually surprised that the Brown Derby is available as that is the premiere spot for dining in Hollywood Studios.

Please remember that all Disney restaurants are certainly geared to children with the exception of Victoria and Alberts in the Grand Floridian. The Brown Derby will have children's menus to choose from just as any Disney restaurant will have.  The price might average two dollars more then maybe Mama Melrose but the quality of food is excellent. I can never state if something is "worth" the cost as everyone has different expectations concerning food but I have never had a bad meal at this spot and I do take my grandchildren there who are 6, 4, and 2.

The benefit of the dining package is that you can use your Disney dining plan to secure the reservation and you will be given a seating pass for Fantasmic for that evening. This allows you to not have to reach the show entrance 45-60 minutes early with the kids. You can go later and know you will have a seat. It is not necessary to sit up front and in the middle as all seats will offer the great views. Where dining package guests sit also offers easy exit which is very important when there are so many people leaving at the same time.
