Hi Amy,
Thanks so much for your question! Value is the exact reason we purchased our Disney Vacation Club membership. I desperately wanted to maintain our frequency and deluxe resort "habit" for our Disney vacations, but we were starting a family and needed to find an economical way to do this.
There are seven DVC properties at Walt Disney World in Orlando, and much like all of the other Disney resorts the are uniquely themed and beautiful! There are feature swimming pools at all locations, as well as recreation halls with activities, dining, shopping and full use of the WDW transportation system. The studios are equipped with a kitchenette, and the other accommodations (1-BR, 2-BR and 3-BR grand villas) have full kitchens, washer & dryer, whirlpool tub and more!. We find that we save a LOT of money by buying groceries and eating 1-2 meals in our villa. I also pack much lighter thanks to the washer and dryer.
DVC is considered a "Home away from home" and therefore does have daily mousekeeping service. For stays of seven nights or less, they have what they call trash & towel service on the fourth day of your stay. For stays that are eight or more days, you'll receive a full cleaning on day four and trash & towel on day eight. Daily housekeeping service can bee added with 24-hour notice (for a fee).
Currently the only DVC property that offers a concierge level for guests staying on points is the Animal Kingdom Villas. The Disney Dining Plan can be added to a DVC reservation by calling member services.
My favorite website for viewing pictures of resorts is
www.allearsnet.com, they have a fantastic collection of detailed pictures of all of the WDW resorts.
