Considering the reduced pool and activity options for this summer, which DVC resort would be best for 9 yo girl and 13 yo boy? We had beach club but want to change if no stormalong bay. Thank you!

Hi ya, Amanda! Thanks for bringing another great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Amanda, I am happy to serve as your Fairy Godmother and help you select the perfect pumpkin... I mean, Disney Vacation Club Resort!

While Disney's Beach Club Villas tout the impressive Stormalong Bay, I do think there are some equally amazing resorts with feature pools that your kids will LOVE. In reading this question, three places come to mind.

As a Mom of boys who love the water as much as Moana, I first have to recommend Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. If your kids love the tiki-vibe, this property's feature pool, the Lava Pool, is a great place to spend a day. You can also grab a DOLE Whip® at Pineapple Lanai, which is already open and welcoming guests!

Another resort that I think appeals to older kids is the newest addition to Disney Vacation Club, Disney's Riviera Resort. Currently the only place on Walt Disney World property where you can enjoy a character meal (modified), this resort has great dining options as well as a beautiful feature pool. If either of your kids enjoy specialty coffee drinks, Le Petit Café is the place to be!

Finally, if your family is in awe of exotic animals as mine is, I would be remiss if I didn't recommend Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village. My good friend stayed here for a week late last fall and her three teenagers loved this property so much, they volunteered to forgo park time to hang by the pool and watch the giraffes graze. This resort also has one of my favorite restaurants, Sanaa! If you are looking to expand your palate with a view that is unparalleled, I would recommend reservations here.

Amanda, I hope this helps as you are considering your move. As Cinderella needed to keep a close eye on midnight, I would make sure to move your reservation as soon as you make a decision. Best wishes for a trip full of Magical moments with your family. Please come back and see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any other questions.
