Hi, I am considering purchasing Disney Premier Passports since we will be visiting both WDW and DLR this year. I will only save about $200 so I am wondering if it is worth the price for the advantages. The web site doesn't give much information. Thanks!

    Hi Danielle,

I'm a very frequent Disney World visitor annual pass for nearly a decade, but in 2012 I made a four day trip to Disneyland as well. I waffled a lot about whether to get a Premier Pass or not because the cost savings was fairly small. As it turned out, the cost savings was much larger than I had anticipated. There are far more small discounts for AP holders at DL than there are at WDW. (Premier Pass holders are entitled to the benefits of both the DL and WDW premium passes.) For example, almost every quick service restaurant at DL offers a 10-15% discount for annual passholders. Depending on the size of your party, small savings such as this can add up quickly. The passholder merchandise discounts at DL are also sometimes better than those at WDW. You really have to map out your dining and shopping patterns and do some math, but I was very pleasantly surprised with my savings when I bought the Premier Pass.

While the cost savings may well pay out for you, I do have one word of caution. I have several friends who are current Premier Pass holders. They have run into some issues with linking their park tickets to their My Disney Experience accounts and MagicBands when visiting Walt Disney World. For a few, this had meant that they had to delay making FastPass+ ride reservations until they were at the parks. Everything eventually got sorted out, but you should be aware that getting a Premier Pass may mean that you end up spending some time on the phone with guest services.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
