We are considering moving our spring trip to Disney World with our 5 and 2 year olds. Which would be better, early August or Thanksgiving?

Hello Thomas! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm happy to help you with your planning question!

August is my family's favorite time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! While it can be hot, we have a park visiting strategy that works well to beat the Florida heat! We wake up early and get to the parks before park opening. We stay in the park until about 11 or 12 and then head back to enjoy the afternoon at the resort. We have lunch, take a swim in the resort pool, take a nap, and have an early dinner. We then head back to the parks to enjoy the cooler evening. When we plan an August visit, we can usually find special offers such as room or package discounts or even the free Disney Dining Plan offer!

Thanksgiving can be a fun time to visit, but like the heat in August, come the holiday crowds for Thanksgiving break. The parks can get crowded when schools are out! On the plus side, the holiday decorations are usually up for Thanksgiving and they are really quite amazing! The Disney Resort Hotels also look beautiful at this time of year!

Thomas, my advice would be August! By mid-August several schools are back in session and the crowds are down. By late August, the crowds have been reduced significantly!

Either way you choose, I think you and your family will have a magical vacation!
