Hello, we are considering getting annual passes. We are out of state, and would plan to stay on property. If we are staying on property but have annual passes are we able to book lighting lanes 7 days before check in or is it 3 days??

    Welcome back to planDisney, Aaron!

I, too, live out of state, and our Annual Passes to Walt Disney World bring so much magic our way--we are so happy to have them!

Because we usually visit the parks more than once every 12 months, we've found the ticket savings alone means Annual Passes make so much sense. However, other Passholder Perks make them even nicer.

Aaron, when guests stay at a Disney Resort Hotel, they can purchase Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance of their stay. Your Annual Pass is the valid theme park admission you'll have that will enable you to do so. That means you get to schedule so much fun when that window opens--and can do that for the length of your stay!

The 3 day window applies to guests--including Annual Passholders--who are not staying on property. However, your WDW resort stay is the key here. Your valid theme park admission is all you'll need to make those pixie dusted plans for your next visit.

Aaron, as you consider the perks of a Walt Disney World Annual Pass or think of additional planning questions, be sure to send questions our way. We love to help!
