Jennifer, I think it's a fantastic idea to do the
Fantasmic! Dining Package during your Walt Disney World trip. This 25 minute, "Good vs. Evil" show starring Sorcerer Mickey is performed nightly in the 7,900- seat Hollywood Hills Amphitheater. Guests without the Dining Package (or a FastPass+ reservation) will have to queue up 30- 60 minutes beforehand to get a good spot. The reserved seating area for the Dining Package is in the center of the stadium, so you'll have a perfect view of Mickey battling the Disney Villains and all the pyrotechnics.
Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano is a casual eatery that makes you feel as though you're sitting in a family restaurant in a New York neighborhood. They serve up hearty portions of Italian comfort food like Spaghetti and Meatballs and Chicken alla Parmigiana. I personally like some more unusual pasta dishes like the Chicken Campanelle in a four cheese sauce. We ate here when my boys were younger, and it was perfectly fine for them to order off the kids' menu even though they were over ten years old. Just keep in mind that you'll still have to pay the adult price; however, the servers will often be happy to bring out a larger portion of a kids' menu item. And the good news is that you do not need to purchase a theme park ticket or the Fantasmic! Dining Package for children under the age of three. By the way, my kiddos were very motivated to clean their plates that night, because for dessert they have a Spaghetti and Meatball Cupcake, that looks just like the real deal!
Enjoy the show, Jennifer, and while you're in Disney's Hollywood Studios, be sure to check out
Toy Story Land!
