We are considering either AOA or New Orleans french Quarter. I see the bus ride to MK could be 15 mins for FQ or 30 min for AOA. Thoughts on which might be better when traveling with a Grandparents in their late 70's. Need easy access between points.

    Hi Renee,

Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation with your grandparents!  Vacationing with extended family is one of my favorite things to do.  I love that Walt Disney World is a vacation destination for every age and brings family and friends closer together.

I have stayed at both of these beautiful Disney Resort hotels and believe that you would be happy staying at either one.  However personally I would choose Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter when vacationing with grandparents in their late 70's.  Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is much smaller in size than Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel and there is therefore less walking needed to access the food court or bus depot.  It is my top pick in the Moderate and Value Resort hotel category for persons with mobility issues for this reason.

I have one other piece of advice that I would like to offer for your vacation:  Consider renting an ECV.  ECV's can greatly improve the quality of vacation for Guests who have mobility issues, even mild ones.  I find that Guests who do just fine with short distance daily activities such as grocery shopping can still experience mobility issues when performing tasks beyond their normal routine such as walking for much of the day.  For more information about ECV rental click on this link:  ECV rentals in Walt Disney World.

Thank you for your question and I hope this helps you make your decision about choosing a Disney Resort hotel for your family.  Please let us know if you have any further questions.  We are always happy to help!

    Blessings,
