I was considering doing online check-in for my trip. I was looking at the FAQ and it says you will need a credit card for any charges you might want to make, my question is do you NEED to bring a card?

    Hi Alexis!

I'm a huge fan of the online resort check-in service because I think of it as a FASTPASS to the start of my Disney vacation. While you still need to stop by the front desk upon your arrival, the process to finalize everything and get all the goodies you need is much faster than if you have to do it all in person.

After reading your question, it appears that you saw the information about how you can put your credit card on file for charging privileges around the entire Walt Disney World Resort. I always go for this option because it's very convenient to just have one card that gives me access to my hotel room, my theme park admission, and my spending money.

As for your question, I would advise that you bring your credit card even if you're not planning to take advantage of the room charging privileges. Yes, your credit card should already be tied to your reservation, but I always want to have a safety net for unforeseen circumstances or emergencies when I travel (e.g. a souvenir that I absolutely CANNOT live without).

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

An alternative to using your credit card or the room charging privileges is the Disney Gift Card. It's accepted all over the Walt Disney World Resort and is very easy to manage in terms of balances and spending history.

I hope that helps! If you should have any further questions, please feel free to let me know and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
