Bonjour Judith, and welcome to planDisney! I’d be honored to help with holiday planning for you and your granddaughter. I recently did a Disney trip with my mom and nephew, and we had the most magical time!
One of the things I love about Disneyland Paris is the importance they place on making it a welcoming and comfortable place for everyone. To help with this, guests with an officially recognized disability can apply for a
Priority Card by filling out the
request form up to one month before their visit. Although your trip isn't until October, you can click the Next button on that form to select your country and see which documents are accepted for a Priority Card. You’ll also need to bring an original copy of that document with you on your arrival day to pick up the card.
The Priority Card gives guests priority access to attractions, shows, parades, character meets, and checkouts at restaurants and shops. There will be a certain number of people who can accompany the Priority Card guest, which you can confirm when you get approval for the card. When I was there last year, the Priority Card holder could be accompanied by up to four guests for attractions and indoor shows, and up to two guests for parades and outdoor shows, like the nighttime spectaculars.
In addition, Priority Card holders can enter the theme parks with a
special-rate Disney Park ticket. You can find more information on requirements and pricing here. If you’re planning to stay at a
Disney hotel, be sure to compare the prices of purchasing special-rate Disney Park tickets and a hotel stay separately versus together in a
Hotel + Tickets package. The packages are sometimes a better deal.
On our last two trips, my family stayed at
Disneyland Hotel and
Disney Newport Bay Club. We really appreciated being able to easily walk back to the hotel for a midday break away from the theme parks!
I’d also recommend looking at the
accessibility information and resources on the Disneyland Paris website. There are many services and equipment to make your family’s stay easier, such as access to noise-canceling headphones for guests with a Priority Card (subject to availability).
I’m wishing you and your granddaughter a magical holiday at Disneyland Paris in October! In the meantime, if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
