Hey there, Laura. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I'm a big fan of both water parks at Walt Disney World. I've actually made the 8-hour drive to enjoy one on a sunny day before turning around and starting the journey back home before. I am also eagerly anticipating the opening of
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Out of the two water parks, it definitely is my favorite. I cannot wait to get thrashed around by huge waves in the wave pool once again. At this time, Laura, there has been no announcement made as to whether Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen this year. I've been keeping an eye out over on the
Disney Parks Blog because when that announcement is made, that's where we will be able to find all of the details.
However, even though Disney's Typhoon Lagoon remains closed, the good news is that
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park has just recently opened! If you've never been, that water park is also a lot of fun. If you are planning a visit, there's a few new policies and procedures you should be aware of. When you are entering Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, you will be required to have a face covering on and will need to have your temperature checked. Face coverings will be required when entering and exiting Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, when ordering at food and beverage locations and when visiting all retail locations. However, you will not be permitted to wear a face-covering while enjoy any of the water slides or in the pool areas. I suggest bringing a little plastic bag to tuck your face-covering in when you are not using it so it doesn't get wet throughout the day. No one likes a soggy mask!
If you end up visiting Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, I hope you'll take a turn racing down the
Toboggan Racers. It's an 8-lane slalom-style waterslide where you can compete against your family to see who can make it to the bottom the quickest. For a competitive family, like mine, it's a lot of fun! Once you've worked up an appetite, I highly recommend grabbing some cinnamon sugar-dusted mini donuts. It's a classic water park treat and they are absolutely delicious.
I'm sorry I don't have more information for you regarding Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. I have my fingers crossed that it will return to us soon. Until then, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is a great option that I think you will enjoy. If you have any other questions, Amy, please feel free to come back and
ask me.
Happy planning!
