We are considering a Disney cruise in 2015. My daughter has feeding issues and has to have her food ground up in a blender in order to eat it safely. Is it possible to do this for her, and are there microwaves available for a special situation like ours?

Welcome to the Moms Panel, Lisa! Thanks for stopping in with your question.

Traveling with a child with special feeding issues can be a challenge, and I've checked in with Disney Cruise Line Special Services to get the information you need. Rest assured, they go above and beyond to make sure every guest has the most magical experience possible on their vacation!

Here's what they had to say: "Disney Cruise Line is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our Guests. Our Chefs are happy to assist Guests who need food pureed at our table service restaurants. So that we may provide proper attention and accommodation for their dietary needs, we encourage them to dine in the full-service dining rooms for all meals and, most importantly, to discuss their dietary needs with their Head Server prior to ordering. Due to limited galley space and preparation areas, special dietary requests may not be accommodated in quick-service food locations. Due to safety concerns and sanitation policies, our staterooms do not include microwaves."

On your first afternoon onboard, I encourage you to visit the embarkation dining session. Dining representatives will be available to discuss and assist you with your dietary requests.

Something else that might help - Guests are allowed to bring pre-packaged snacks onboard. They must be government-approved food items, in their sealed original packaging. Due to food safety regulations and cross-contamination prevention, they are unable to provide preparation, refrigeration or kitchen storage for personal food/beverage items.

I hope this information is helpful to you, and that you will soon be able to start planning a fabulous voyage in 2015! Please come back and visit if you have any more questions.
Have a magical day! - Diane
