We are considering a dinner reservation at Sanaa in March with 3 little ones. I’m wondering what the animal experience is like here in the evening? Should we expect to see animals roaming from our dinner table?

    Hi, there!

Welcome back to planDisney, Heather. We just love when you stop by! I am so excited to hear you're planning another magical visit, and even more excited to hear you're thinking about dining at Sanaa. It's my family's absolute favorite dining location at the Walt Disney World Resort!

As a mom of three, my top priority when dining with little ones in tow is entertainment. The only way we're going to enjoy a nice meal is if the kids will actually sit through it! This is just one of the many reasons a visit to Sanaa is a must-do with every Disney vacation we take. To answer your question, you should be able to see African animals from your table in the evening. I say 'should' because the animals are free to roam the Sunset Savanna at their will, and they could choose to stay out of sight. In all the visits my family has made to Sanaa, though, there's only been one in which we were not able to see animals from our table for the entirety of our meal. There was a thunderstorm that night, and all the animals ran across the savanna to seek shelter. Watching them all race past the table was quite a sight to see!

From my super picky eater to my super adventurous eater, there's something on the menu for everyone at Sanaa. My family especially recommends ordering the Indian-Style Bread Service. This must-order appetizer features five types of warm, fresh naan and nine accompaniments ranging from mild to spicy. My daughter was just 11-months old when she made her first visit to Sanaa, and she couldn't get enough of that yummy naan!

One last Sanaa tip from one mama to another: if your little ones get wiggly while you wait to be seated or while you wait for your meals, walk them out of the restaurant and onto the boardwalk area just past the check-in desk. This boardwalk extends into the Sunset Savanna and offers up-close views of the animals. There's always an animal specialist out there who is more than happy to answer questions about the wildlife!

With breathtaking views and incredible food, you won't regret booking a dining reservation at Sanaa. I know your family will love it as much as mine does!

I hope this was helpful, Heather. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
