    I am considering the dining plan (1ts, 1cs,1snack), it is pricy for 3 adults! Are there any hidden costs? Tipping servers? Tax on food? I have read the WDW info, but are there additional out of pocket costs other than ordering additional food items?

    Hi, Jennifer!

    There are additional costs to the Disney Dining Plan:  tips and taxes are NOT included.   While the dining plan is not cheap, it does save you money if you plan ahead and use your dining credits wisely.  Let me give you an example:

    Lunch at Cosmic Rays with Rotisserie Chicken, sides, large drink, chocolate cake:  approximately $21.00

    Dinner buffet at Chef Mickey's:  approximately $43

    Snack:  Root Beer float with vanilla ice cream:  approximately $4.50

    Add to that the refillable mug for use at your resort, and it really is not a bad deal at all!  Now each meal would not be this price, and all prices are subject to change, but if you plan ahead for your meals and make your Dining Reservations, the Dining Plan can really pay off!

    If you are not a big eater and eat just one big meal a day, then you might be better off paying out of pocket.  But, if you plan on at least one table service meal per day or enjoy buffets, you might want to consider adding it on.
