Considering Chef Mickey dining and staying at the Old Key West resort. I am wondering about how long it would take us to get to the Contemporary resort. We are renting a car but is it feasible to do on foot?

    Hi Kim,

Old Key West is a lovely property, that combines the best of both worlds....a Disney Vacation and a resort that is reminiscent of a leisurely vacation in the Florida Keys!  I love Olivia's for a casual table service meal.  They serve THE best key lime pie on property!  My children absolutely adore the main pool at the resort, especially the slide!  Community Hall has tons of wonderful activities and events that make it hard to leave the property!

If you would like to use Disney transportation to get from Old Key West to the Contemporary Resort, where Chef Mickey's is located, you should take a bus to the Magic Kingdom, and then either walk or take the monorail to the Contemporary.  The walk is actually a bit faster, as you will exit the bus only a 4-5 minute walk from the Contemporary.  I would allow approximately 45 minutes to an hour to ensure you make your reservation with time to spare.

You could also certainly drive your rental car and park at the Contemporary if you have reservations at Chef Mickey's.  The guard at the gate will just ask for the name on your reservation when you pull into the Contemporary.  I would allow approximately thirty minutes to allow time to park and walk from the lot to Chef Mickey's if you chose to drive.

However you get there, have a fabulous meal with Mickey!
