Hello! I was considering buying season passes (Silver) but we wanted to go to Disney on a blackout date. Do they still allow you to buy a single park admission and pay the difference for the Silver pass even if you went on a black out date? TY, Tiffany

Hi Tiffany! Thank you so much for stopping by to see us with this great question. Everyone is still learning all of the ins and outs of the new Annual Pass Program, so I'm happy to help you if I can.

If I understand your question correctly, you'd like to buy your single day admission ticket on a day that's blocked out for Silver Pass holders, then apply that amount to a new Silver Pass. I presented this scenario to a Disney Cast Member in Guest Relations, and while it sounds like a good idea, she tells me it's not really possible.

In order to apply the amount of a single day admission ticket to a new Annual Pass, you'd need to have your unused ticket in hand and present it at Guest Relations, then pay the difference for the new Pass. Once you use the ticket, it's no longer possible to apply it toward a Pass. Even if you tried buying a single day ticket and then buying the Pass at the same time, you'd essentially be trading in the single day ticket for the Silver Pass - which you couldn't then use on the blockout day.

I hope this explanation makes sense, Tiffany, even if the news wasn't the news you were hoping for. If you have any more questions, please let us know. We'll do all we can to help.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
