    Considering bringing my family October 1-8 and camping at Fort Wilderness. How early in October do campers usually start decorating their campsites for Halloween? Thx!

    Hi Kimberly! My husband and I are regular fall "campers" in Fort Wilderness. We bring our motor coach and enjoy the parks, Food and Wine Festival, and of course the holiday fun at the Fort.

    We usually arrive late September or early October and immediately set up our Halloween decorations. Feel free to bring yours and be one of the earlier guests to embrace the spirit. Obviously the closer you get to Halloween the more you will see but any time in the month of October will have plenty of sites to enjoy.

    It is amazing how sophisticated some of the sites are decorated. There are full blown haunted houses and others will have moving things surrounding their RV's. You can always find the cute and large inflatable decorations at almost every site as well. I have to now go and start thinking about what we will be doing this year. We usually follow the football theme and incorporate some Halloween with that but who knows what this year will bring. See you in October!
