    We are considering bringing our bikes when we camp at Fort Wilderness next month. Is there a place to park them if we bike to the transportation areas?

    Hi Shelley!

    My husband and I are frequent guests of the Fort Wilderness Resort. We love the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that you can walk, jog, and bike many routes throughout the resort.

    We bring our bikes for every trip as well and it is a great idea if you can handle it. There are bike racks at both the marina and also the main bus depot at the front of the resort. There is also bike parking at the swimming pools. I do suggest you bring a simple bike lock and lock your bikes when you are leaving them in a public area. Although we have never heard of any trouble it is always good to be safe. I also suggest a simple bike light that you can clip on after dark. Sometimes we arrive back at the resort late and need the light to safely make our way "home".

    Have a wonderful time. The cast members at the resort strongly urge you to bike on the sidewalks since the roads are quite narrow and there is a lot of bus traffic. Don't forget to take advantage of the paved bike path that leads from the Disney stables to the Wilderness Lodge. Along that route you are likely to see some of my wildlife friends such as turkey and deer.
