Ahoy, Mary!
Welcome aboard planDisney! Concierge level on a European sailing? Now that is the kind of trip that feels straight out of a storybook. Cobblestone streets, breathtaking ports, and coming back each afternoon to a little extra pixie dust onboard. I can absolutely see why you are looking closely at all the perks.
When it comes to priority debarkation at ports of call, here is how it typically works. Concierge Guests generally receive priority at
ports where tendering is required. That means if the ship anchors offshore and you need to take a smaller boat, or tender, to reach land, Concierge Guests are usually able to board those tenders with priority.
The exact process can vary slightly by ship, but most often you would head to the Concierge Lounge and let the Concierge team know you are ready to go ashore. They will coordinate with the team below and, when a tender is available, you are typically escorted down for priority boarding. It feels a bit like having your own royal escort to the
next chapter of your adventure.
If the port does not require tendering and you can simply walk off the ship onto the pier, priority debarkation is generally not offered or needed. In most
European ports where the ship docks directly, the flow tends to move efficiently. Still, I always recommend stopping by the Concierge Welcome Reception on embarkation day and chatting with your Concierge Host. They will outline exactly how debarkation will work for your specific itinerary and can answer any port specific questions.
It is also helpful to know that if you book a
Port Adventure through Disney Cruise Line, those excursions typically have their own organized meeting locations and escort process off the ship. The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will tell you when and where to meet, and once your group is assembled, you are guided off together to begin your day. That applies whether you are Concierge or not.
I hope this helps as you weigh your options. Concierge can absolutely enhance a European itinerary, especially on tender ports, but it is always good to know exactly what to expect.
Sea ya real soon with a little extra warmth, wonder, and Disney magic,
Dustin
