We have to consider our son's Autism when planning around crowds. Should I avoid parks where there are extra magic hours scheduled when making reservations? Do these parks typically have more crowds on those days?

    HI Marsha!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

If you don't have the Park Hopper option on your Magic Your Way tickets then I do suggest skipping the parks offering Morning Extra Magic Hour, especially Disney's Animal Kingdom.  If you do have the Park Hopper option and can get to the parks about 30 minutes before park opening then go to Morning Extra Magic Hour and then hop to another park around lunch time.

By the way, if you want to plan your trip around expected crowds then I highly recommend visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com.  That's the website for the research team behind the tour book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World".  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar.  Their recommendations are based on a lot of math and years of data collection.  A small subscription is required, but I think it is worth every penny.

By the way, be sure to pick up a Guest Assistance Card in Guest Services at the first theme park you visit.  The card can help you with your son while visiting!

Enjoy planning your magical Disney vacation, and please write back with more questions!
