Hello, Raquel,
As Walt Disney said about Disneyland when he dedicated the theme park on July 17, 1955, “
To all who come to this happy place: welcome!” The Disneyland Resort is a place where everyone is invited to feel welcome and included. To that end, the Disneyland Resort provides various
services for Guests with disabilities. Among those offerings is the Disability Access Service (DAS). DAS allows Guests who are unable to tolerate an extended wait in a traditional attraction queue to book a return time for a selected attraction that is based on the estimated standby wait time for the attraction. The Guest and their party can then wait for their return time in a more comfortable situation.
Accommodations are tailored to the individual needs of each Guest with a disability. Eligibility for
Disability Access Service (DAS) is determined by a one-on-one interview between a Guest requesting accommodation and a
Guest Relations Cast Member. Rather than a predetermined list of diagnoses or named disabilities, the Cast Member will ask questions to determine the most appropriate types of accommodations that will best meet the needs of the Guests. For example,
Guests with mobility disabilities may best be accommodated by providing access to attractions that is appropriate for those who use a
wheelchair or Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV). That may include attraction queues that can accommodate a wheelchair or ECV. Or some attractions may allow Guests using mobility aids to request a return time to use an alternate entrance. Other Guests may be deemed eligible to register for DAS and given access to return time self-selection tools in the
Disneyland mobile app. Eligibility for accommodations is determined on a case-by-case basis to meet the specific needs of each Guest.
Thanks for visiting us at planDisney, Raquel. It’s a pleasure to help fellow Guests with plans to visit the Disneyland Resort. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to stop by again.
