I have connected with my sister on the my Disney family and friends. Do I need to also add her son in my family and friends, so that we can make dining reservations and ride reservations with genie + so that we can all be connected?

Hey there, hi there, ho there Brooke!

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for submitting your question today! I absolutely love visiting the parks with my friends and family, especially when I get to reunite with friends from all over Canada. There's nothing quite like being able to experience the Disney magic with the people you love!

When it comes to making plans with another family, you are right that you would need to be connected on My Disney Experience to be able to make plans for your whole party. If your sister's children are under 13 years old, unfortunately, their profiles would have been created and would be managed by your sister and you would be unable to connect with them directly with a request. However, there are a few solutions to this issue if you still are unable to see them in your Family & Friends list.

First, I would recommend signing out of your account and either refreshing your app or your internet browser depending on what you are using. I have found that other users sometimes take a little bit of time to appear in my Family & Friends list after accepting their request, so refreshing your account might fix this issue. Second, I would suggest that your sister goes into her My Disney Experience account and to make sure her plans are public to her family and friends. This can be done by going into the "Family & Friends List" section in her profile on the app and then clicking on "Yes, share my Family & Friends list," or by clicking on "My Family & Friends" and on "Update" next to her son's profile on the website. If her plans are already set as public, you can then reach out to a Cast Member via chat, email or phone to have this issue corrected.

Something you should know, however, is that you can still make dining reservations for your whole party without having her son in your Family & Friends list! When you select the number of people in your party, you can link the reservation to other profiles and leave some unselected. In this case, your sister's son would appear as "Guest 1" in your dining reservation, so you can still make some plans without necessarily seeing him in your account! This only applies to dining reservations, however, so I would recommend reaching out to a Cast Member so they can help you with Disney Genie+

I hope this was helpful, Brooke, and I hope that you can get back to planning your magical vacation as soon as possible! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out, you're as welcome as can be! Have a magical day and see you real soon,
