Hi Seth,
Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. The
MagicBand+ is such a neat accessory to use while visiting Walt Disney World, I enjoy the added interactivity of the lights and haptic buzzes within the parks!
You can check the battery level of your MagicBand+ two ways. One way is in your
My Disney Experience mobile app. Click the three horizontal bars in the bottom right of your screen and visit the tile labeled “MagicBands and More.” Find your MagicBand+, and you will see the battery level under the MagicBand+ picture. Another option is to
click the button on the back of the MagicBand+ once. The band will light up green, yellow, or red. Green lights mean high battery, yellow means low battery, and red signifies charge soon.
When you plug in your MagicBand+ the puck will
light up with the battery status of red, yellow, or green as described above. In my experience, your MagicBand+ lights will change as your MagicBand+ charges. So, you may plug in your MagicBand+ at the end of the evening with only one light displayed but wake up to all four lights glowing green and a full charge!
Just a few quick tips for your MagicBand+, Seth. Make sure your MagicBand+ is securely clipped in to the charger. I have made the mistake of not fully clicking the MagicBand+ into the dock and it did not charge. You can also double check that it is charging in the My Disney Experience app in the same area where it shows the battery level. Another tip is to not panic if your MagicBand+ flashes different colors in the theme parks! I won’t give away any spoilers, but your MagicBand+ may interact with certain attractions, and there is one attraction in Magic Kingdom Park that causes your MagicBand+ to vibrate and flash red. When it happened to me the first time I thought my MagicBand+ needed to charge, but then I realized it was
receiving some sympathetic vibrations, if you know what I mean! Although there are no worries if you do have a low battery, Seth. You'll still be able to use your MagicBand+ for important stuff like entering the theme parks, redeeming Lightning Lane selections, collecting Disney PhotoPass photos, and entering your Disney Resort hotel room.
I hope this helped, Seth. I love the MagicBand+, now I can’t imagine visiting Walt Disney World without mine. If you have any future questions, please come see us again at planDisney!
