Hi Trisha! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
You definitely want to have your party together during your visit, so this is a great question.
MagicBand+ was introduced at Disneyland Resort in the Fall, and the bands really add to the experience and convenience of a Disneyland vacation. MagicBand+ works at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, however, Disneyland has its own app, the
Disneyland mobile app. My Disney Experience does not work at Disneyland Resort.
In order to
link your MagicBand+, you will want to power it on and tap it on the device you'll be using in the parks. Then, either download or open the Disneyland mobile app. You'll follow the instructions in the Disneyland app to link the MagicBand+ to your Disney account. Finally, you'll assign the MagicBand+ to a Guest and pair it with the device. You can manage multiple bands in the MagicBand+ part of the app.
If you're more familiar with Walt Disney World Resort, you'll find that Disneyland Resort has lots of experiences unique to that park, such as
Cars Land and
Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park or the
Matterhorn Bobsleds in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park. Even attractions shared between Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort can be a very different experience! Check out the iconic
"it's a small world" in Fantasyland and
Pirates of the Caribbean in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park to see exactly what I mean. Plus, Disneyland Resort is celebrating
Disney100, which means lots of new décor, treats, merchandise, and experiences.
Enjoy your magical visit!
