Hey there, Jan!
Thanks for coming to see us at planDisney. You're asking a great question!
When you visit the theme parks at
Disneyland Resort, you'll need two things for theme park entry: a valid theme park ticket for admission and a valid theme park reservation. Both the theme park ticket and the theme park reservation need to be valid for the date you wish to visit the theme park. You can check out the
"Know Before You Go" info for helpful updates.
A
1-day theme park ticket price will vary by date, and that's why you are prompted to select a date when you purchase your theme park ticket. After you purchase your theme park ticket, you will need to make a theme park reservation using the
Theme Park Reservations system. The Theme Park Reservation system is part of the reopening protocols to manage theme park attendance.
Before you purchase your tickets, it's helpful to look at the
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar. This will let you see which theme parks have reservations available for which dates.
Jan, I hope this info is helpful to understand why you need to both purchase a theme park ticket and make a theme park reservation. If you have additional questions, you can
reach out to the Disneyland Resort Ticket Services team at (714) 781-4636.
Here's wishing you lots of Disney magic in your day today!
Jerry
