So confused about how to plan a 2025 trio to WDW and to be sure I'm going to be there during the Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party. It doesn't sounds like I can plan a trip a year in advance if I want to make sure we can do the Halloween party?

Welcome back to planDisney, Courtney! It's so nice that you come to us with your burning Disney vacation planning questions. Let's take some confusion out of planning your upcoming not-so-spooky trip!

Typically, dates for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are released halfway to Halloween, which is usually the April or May prior. While not a year in advance, this is usually plenty of time to book your vacation. However, should you want to book a year out before the dates are announced, there are ways to ensure a higher probability of booking when a party will be taking place. The parties are usually underway by the middle of August (although it's been even earlier the past couple of years) and continue through Halloween itself. Here are some commonalities in the 2023 and 2024 dates. Just note that this is not a guarantee for 2025, but it gives you some perspective into the patterns that have popped up in these two years.

    • In October, the parties are usually offered the most frequently (this year, 3-4 times a week) so you're the best bet is to plan a trip in October. Of course, your absolute best bet is Halloween itself, but note that this one sells out very quickly so you'll want to act fast when tickets go on sale!

    • In both 2023 and 2024, the most common days for parties announced were Tuesdays and Fridays. Sundays were also pretty frequent in September and October.

    • For 2023 and 2024, only Tuesdays and Fridays were in the offerings for August.
As you can see, the likelihood of you planning a vacation to the resort that includes 1 or 2 party dates is pretty high, especially if your plans include a long weekend. And remember, if you book a vacation package (theme park tickets and Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room booked together), the current Terms & Conditions usually allow for you to modify your package as long as you do so more than 30 days before your arrival date (subject to availability). So if for some reason you book ahead of time and the dates that are announced don't include any dates in your booked vacation, you can likely modify your package dates.

Courtney, follow along with the Disney Parks Blog and Disney Parks on Instagram to be the first to know when 2025 dates are announced. In the meantime, if you have any other questions, feel free to send them my way!
