I am confused .... is the Lunch at Be Our Guest a counter service/quick meal? What I read suggests that, but you have to have a reservation? How does lunch work there?

Bonjour Tricia! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Be Our Guest is one of the most popular dining locations at the Walt Disney World Resort. It is one of my family’s favorite restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park. It is a unique experience, dining inside Beast's castle is absolutely an unforgettable experience. You will need to make Advance Dining Reservations for all meals at Be Our Guest. Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit.
You will love to have lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant, food is delicious and the decor is beautiful. It is a special Quick-Service experience; you can order your food from touch-screen terminals at the restaurant or if you prefer you can pre-order your meal up to 30 days in advance.
Magic happens when you find a table at one of the amazing dining rooms and your food will find you!
Hope this helps your planning. Let us know if you have further questions.
    Have a wonderful day!
