Hi There, I am confused with the fast pass and max pass system - I am visiting Disneyland for the first time in a few weeks and read that i can book rides 30-60 days in advance, but cannot find informaiton on how to do this, I have paid for a maxipass

Hiya, Kim, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your getaway to the Merriest Place on Earth will be here before you know it!

Planning a Disneyland Resort vacation can be an overwhelming experience – there are so many exciting things to see and do, and you don’t want to miss a thing!  I’d be more than happy to help explain the difference between Disney FASTPASS and Disney MaxPass. Let’s start with Disney MaxPass, which is my favorite way to maximize the time you spend in the theme parks of the Disneyland Resort! So, what exactly is it? There are two main benefits that come along with it – first, you can use it to make digital Disney FASTPASS selections from the convenience of your phone, as soon as you enter Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. If you purchase a Park Hopper ticket, you can even make a selection for one park while you’re still inside the other… talk about a handy helper! Without MaxPass, you’re still able to make complimentary FASTPASS selections on select attractions by walking up to each FASTPASS distribution point. So, MaxPass allows you the convenience of making FASTPASS selections without having to physically walk up to each attraction.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to make your FASTPASS selections ahead of time, as you can with FastPass+ at Walt Disney World Resort. At Disneyland Resort, you can start making FASTPASS selections with Disney MaxPass on a daily basis, as soon as you pass through the Main Entrance turnstiles of Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park.

I’ve used MaxPass at Disneyland Resort many times, and have been very impressed with the service. I think you made the right decision by adding it to your theme-park tickets! It truly allows you to make the most of your time at the Disneyland Resort. Plus, MaxPass also includes unlimited digital downloads of your Disney PhotoPass pictures, which is a great way to preserve your magical memories. From attraction photos to dining photos to Magic Shots, there are so many ways to capture your family fun at the Disneyland Resort!

Before your arrival, make sure you download the Disneyland app, which allows you to use Disney MaxPass to make your FASTPASS selections from your mobile device. The app is also a great tool for making dining reservations, checking attraction wait times, and finding your favorite Characters.

I hope this information helps. Please stop back with any additional questions you may have… I’m all EARs!

As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
