I am confused about the dining plan(s) and if it is a good value for our (3) person family. I was looking at the plan with (2) quick service meals, dessert and drink. How to use and points for meals seem confusing. Do you have any thoughts/advice? thks

    Hi Esther!

When I think about the Disney Dining Plans in my opinion they are a good deal. Getting a dining plan actually helps us to budget our money better since a lot of our food is paid for before we even arrive.

When thinking about the Quick-Service dining plan it is first important to know what is included in the plan. Each day you receive two Quick-Service meals (they can be used for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and one snack per person, per night of your package stay. The plan also includes one Rapid Fill Resort refillable drink mug per person. This mug is valid for the length of your stay and you can refill it at any self-service beverage station at any Disney Resort hotel (these stations are located mostly in the food court areas.)

A Quick-Service meal typically can be redeemed at any location that you can walk up and order your food. If you redeem a credit for breakfast you will receive one Entrée and one drink. We typically pay for breakfast out of our pocket each day since it is the least expensive meal of the day for us.We tend to eat at the Resort hotel food court before we leave our room and that way we can use our mug and not purchase an extra drink. When you redeem a credit for lunch or dinner you will receive one Entrée, one nonalcoholic drink, and one dessert. We use our credits for lunch and dinner.

Lastly you can redeem your credits however you choose. For example if you want each person to use three Quick-Service dining credits on the first day you can do that. You can redeem as many credits as you choose until all of your credits run out. You can keep track of how many credits are remaining by looking at the bottom of your receipt.
