Confused on difference between copper creek and boulder ridge? we are DVC and have stayed at wilderness lodge 5 years ago. Thanks!

Welcome back, Amanda! It's great to see you hEAR again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Amanda, as a Disney Vacation Club Member whose "home" resort is Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, I am thrilled to help you learn more about the nuances of these two resorts.

Before we board the train heading into the Wilderness, I will encourage you to view these two properties as you would Chip 'n' Dale. Sometimes difficult to tell apart because they are both rustic, both fun, both cozy and both chipmunks- no wait... not that last part; but you get the gist.

Since you stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge five years ago, you may have noticed a separate building a few steps from the side exit of the main lodge. This building exclusively houses Disney's Boulder Ridge Villas and was dedicated in 2000. I would describe the lobby of this building as quaint and a great tribute to Walt Disney's love of the railroad system. In comparison, the deluxe studios, 1-Bedroom, 2-Bedroom and 3-Bedroom Villas that are designated as the Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, are part of the main lodge building and were dedicated in 2017. There are also stand alone units (the Cascade Cabins) with unbeatable views that you will find lake side. While the in-room decor DOES differ from the Boulder Ridge side to the Copper Creek side, the theming for both is true to the spirit of Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Amanda, if you are deciding between a stay at these two properties, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. My family and I have enjoyed both "brother" resorts and it's important to know that you will have access to the same amenities such as pools, recreation and dining. While you are there, make sure to wet your whistle (and enjoy the nibbles) at our favorite spot, Geyser Point Bar & Grill. I can personally vouch for the Cheesy Barbecue Brisket.

I hope this helps clear up the differences (and similarities) between these picturesque properties. Please come on back and see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any other questions you might have. Wishing you a pixie-dusted stay!
