Hello Andrea!
My son and I love the
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. We have dined there so many times during our Walt Disney World vacations! Sometimes we took so much time eating our meal that we saw the entire sci-fi movie loop one and a half to two times.
There are sci-fi monsters and references to people in peril (woman screaming) that may upset more sensitive people, especially children who have not been exposed to older sci-fi movies (think the Attack of the 50-foot Woman, Monsters from the Swamp, Giant Ant Attacking, or Aliens Invade). There are cartoons and other footage in between the sci-fi clips. I know this from personal experience because I brought two of my young nephews, and they did not like the monsters and screams on the screen during the meal, so it was not that great of an experience for them. My nephews didn't watch many movies or TV, so it was too much for them. On the other hand, my son loves the film playing at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater and often forgets to eat his meal because his focus is on the screen. You know your daughter the best, so you may want to see if there are other
dining opportunities available at Disney's Hollywood Studios on that day. I would keep checking for Advanced Dining Reservations to become available because often, Guests change their dining plans and cancel their Advanced Dining Reservations. Hence, they become available to other Guests. I have two recommendations for you that would be a fun dining experience for your family. The first is
50's Prime Time Café, and the second is
Hollywood & Vine. I would also recommend searching for times outside the typical times for breakfast, lunch, or dinner to increase your chances of finding availability.
I hope that all of your meals are magical on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!
