Hey there, hi there, ho there, Emma! You're as welcome as can be here at
planDisney. Thanks a bunch for stopping by with your question!
My, oh my! That sure does sound like a perfect day to me. Spending the morning and early afternoon at Disney's Hollywood Studios and hopping over to EPCOT (my favorite park!) in the late afternoon is something that I do quite often, so I'm happy to share my tips on the matter.
As you know, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are super close together, so it's no wonder that a lot of people love hopping back and forth between the two. However, you would need to get into EPCOT in order for you to take the walkway to Hollywood Studios, since this path is located near EPCOT's International Gateway––as opposed to the main entrance, which is where your car would be parked. Of course, this would really skew your plans, since you would have to make a Theme Park reservation for EPCOT. On that note, I have another solution for you!
Instead of parking at EPCOT, why don't you and your travel party park at Hollywood Studios in the morning? This way, you could simply drive your car to the EPCOT parking lot when you're done exploring at Hollywood Studios.
If you show that day's parking pass to the Cast Members at the toll booths, they will let you in without having to pay again! Another option would be to leave your car at the Hollywood Studios parking lot and hop to EPCOT via the
Disney Skyliner, the
Friendship Boats, or the aforementioned walkway. That being said, please keep in mind that EPCOT tends to close a bit later than Hollywood Studios on most nights, so the Hollywood Studios Skyliner line could be closed by the time you head out of EPCOT. This would leave you with two options: walking or taking the Friendship Boat back to your car.
Emma, if you ask me, I think that driving to Hollywood Studios in the morning and then from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT in the afternoon would definitely be your best bet in this particular case. After all, you need to walk past the parking lot in order to get to the Skyliner station, the Friendship Boats dock, and the EPCOT walkway, so you're better off simply walking to your car and driving over to the EPCOT parking lot by yourself. Simply put, you will get there faster, you won't have to pay any extra fees, and your car will be waiting for you right outside EPCOT's main entrance, giving you one last look at the iconic Spaceship Earth before you leave.
If you have any other questions about your upcoming vacation,
please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm always more than happy to help!
Stay magical,
Ana Paula
