Can you confirm that our party doesn't need a FastPass+ to use Rider Switch? And if so and we choose to use the option via standby, would our second group enter through the standby line as well, or return to the FastPass+ line to avoid wating?

So great to see you here again on the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lisa! The Rider Switch Service in Walt Disney World is a great way for adult guests to take turns waiting with children or guests unable to ride. One person can wait with the non-rider while the rest of the party experiences the attraction. When the first group or adult returns to take over supervision of the non-rider, the waiting adult can board the attraction with up to two additional guests without having to wait in the regular line again. That way no one has to miss out on an attraction!

You will first want to ensure that Rider Switch is offered for the attraction, and then with your entire party present, inform the greeting Cast Member that you would like to be issued a Ride Switch entitlement.  This Ride Switch entitlement will be added to the FastPass+ section of your My Disney Experience account. The guests who are waiting with the non-rider will be directed to a designated waiting area while the rest of the party waits in the standby line or uses their FastPass+ to experience the attraction. Once the first group experiences the attraction, the waiting adult can enter the attraction using their Ride Switch entitlement in the FastPass+ line. It is not required that you have a FastPass+ selection to utilize the Rider Switch Service as it is available to both guests using a FastPass+ selection as well as guests utilizing the standby line.

I hope that this information helps you to better plan your next magical Walt Disney World vacation! Please stop back by if we can help answer any more of your questions.
