    how do i confirm my magic band is a +?

    Hi Richard,

    Welcome to planDisney! MagicBands are a fun accessory that is also a great tool for having a smooth day at Walt Disney World Resort. MagicBands hold theme park and special event tickets, can be scanned to add PhotoPass photos, unlock a Disney Resort hotel room door, and tap to pay for merchandise or dining. 

    Over the past decade and a bit, the MagicBands have changed. New features have been added and the design has morphed.  Currently, MagicBand+ is the only MagicBand available for purchase. 

    To verify if your MagicBand is a MagicBand+, you’ll see that the band around the face of your MagicBand lights up (I love seeing my MagicBand+ light up and sync to the music during nighttime spectaculars!). You’ll also notice that the face is not perfectly round like the MagicBand 2. If you flip over your MagicBand+, you’ll see two metal contact where the charger connects and there is a power button and QR code.
