Can you confirm what "family style" dining means? Do we still choose foods we want to eat or do they just bring out a variety of foods without us ordering?

    Hi, Katie!

At Family Style meals, platters of pre-plated foods are brought to your table.  There is usually a nice variety to choose from.  Your server will explain what will be brought out to you.  So if you know that, for example, at Whispering Canyon that nobody will want salad, you can tell your server not to even bring it.  Family Style dining has unlimited refills, so you can reorder as much as you wish.  Usually we have our server bring everything so we can at least give it all a try - and usually we are quite happy and quite full after a Family Style meal.

If you are looking at a specific restaurant that you want more information on, let me know and I can help you with the menu.  If there is one thing my family loves at WDW it is eating, so we've tried almost every restaurant and I will be happy to help you out.  Make sure to plan ahead with your Advance Dining Reservations !

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
