Going to a conference in Orlando in Feb. 2017. Bringing the family for a grand vacation! Trying to figure out dates; my conf. is from the 22nd to the 26th. Cruise first? the 12th or 13, then WDW or after, 27th on. Want to know when WDW is less crowded? Th

    Hi Leslie,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I love that you are beginning to plan your vacation so far ahead. This will help you to get everything in place so that you can truly relax and enjoy your vacation when you get to Walt Disney World. My husband and I began our love Walt Disney World when I came down and joined him for a few days after a conference that he attended at Walt Disney World. We have been going back to Walt Disney World ever since!

Typically, February is a nice month to visit Walt Disney World. Crowds tend to be fairly low, and the weather is much cooler than in the hot summer months. As for crowds, a couple of things may tend to boost crowds in February. I think that that most impactful of these is Presidents' Day. Since children tend to have time off from school around that day, the theme parks can be a little more crowded. Presidents' Day is on February 20, 2017. Therefore, if you are basing your decision on crowds at Walt Disney World, I would suggest that you plan your visit to Walt Disney World after your conference. Also, you should know that your conference will be during the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend, which will occur from February 23 - 26, 2017. Since this is during your conference, it probably will not impact your time in the theme parks very much; however, if you are interested in running this event, do check it out!

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Leslie. Have a wonderful time planning your Walt Disney World vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions!
