Welcome to planDisney, Kimberly!
With your visit just a day away, I bet you are getting excited for all the magic you are about to experience with your family. As part of your planning, I understand that it's essential for you to feel comfortable as you move through the parks. Disney strives to ensure that the pixie dust is accessible for all Guests, including those with specific needs. Let's jump right into your question so you can check off those last few to-dos on your list before your visit.
According to the current
Disneyland Resort rules, wagons and stroller wagons, even those that fold up, are not permitted within the parks. I'm sorry, I know that was not the news you were hoping to hear. There are a few specific scenarios where a wagon would be allowed if it is used as a mobility aid due to a medical condition. These wagons have been approved by Guest Services and are tagged so that they can be easily identified by other Cast Members as you make your way through the parks. If you feel that you fall into this category, I would go ahead and call
Guest Services ahead of your visit to discuss your specific situation. They will be able to provide more details on approved devices and other services available to you. In my experience, you would need to bring the wagon and a backup stroller with you to the parks and visit Guest Services in person for them to approve the device. Please note that approval is not guaranteed, so it's always recommended to have a backup option at the ready!
While it doesn't sound like this may be a solution for you, I did want to share that both wheelchairs and ECVs are available to rent at the
Stroller Shop just to the right of the main entrance to Disneyland Park. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we always recommend stopping by earlier in the day to secure one. Another resource for you while you are on the ground in the magic is the Accessibility Services Kiosk, located in the Main Entrance Esplanade. Cast Members here have a wealth of knowledge around services that may be able to add some ease to your day, including information around
Attraction Queue Re-entry or Meet-Up, Location Return Time, and even Disability Access Service (DAS). These are designed to assist Guests who may have issues waiting in traditional standby queues. Another wonderful resource is the
Accessibility Planning Guide and Recommendations, which you can read through ahead of time for any tips or to learn about services that are available.
Kimberly, I hope we've paved a smooth path to the magic for you tomorrow. You are going to get to enjoy the last few days of the holiday celebration, so expect some holly jolly around every corner. You won't want to miss
Haunted Mansion Holiday and
"it's a small world" Holiday, which happen to be my favorites this time of year! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Magic awaits!
