    Is use of the concierge level services worth the extra cost when booking a room at the deluxe resorts or will we be happy enough with a standard room?

    Hi Julia,

    The deluxe resorts are all wonderful properties, with beautiful lobbies, well-themed pools and outstanding dining options.  Staying at any of them in a standard room is a wonderful experience.  While the amenities vary slightly from hotel to hotel, most of the concierge rooms are located on special key-access-only floors. The concierge level rooms have free access to a lounge with a large TV and free newspapers.  Some also have free games for kids to play with.  One of the best benefits of staying in a concierge (or club-level room) is that the lounge provides guests with complimentary continental breakfast, snack foods, early evening cocktails, hors d'oeuvrs and desserts throughout the day. I recently had the opportunity to stay on the concierge level at the Beach Club Resort, and saved quite a bit on food by eating breakfast in the lounge (and just about everything else they offered!) 

    In addition to the lounge, concierge-level guests have access to cast members who can help with vacation planning, making reservations for restaurants and shows, etc.  There is sometimes also a private check-in area that is convenient.

    As you can guess, concierge rooms are more expensive than standard rooms.  If you chose a suite  on the concierge-level, the price difference can be substantial.  If you don't think you would make use of the lounge, I would save your money for a special dinner at a Signature Restaurant, or some great souvenirs.  However, if you do splurge, I will say the experience is wonderful!
