Concerned that my 3yo is a bit shy with strangers but would like to utilize the Oceaneer club to have some adult only time. How do they deal with children who require a bit of encouragement to play? or should we arrange for him to go to the nursery?

    Hi Megan!

Thank you for stopping by the Moms Panel and logging in a question.  It's really amazing how the little kids react to the Oceaneer Club once they take a stroll around.  It will surely be helpful for you to introduce your little buccaneer to the Club as early as you can when you onboard. You can check out the various activities with him during open house.

The well trained counselors at the Club & the Nursery are amazing with kids. They really do take the time to engage with individual children to help them gain confidence around all the other 'strangers' in the room. You'll want to give specific instructions to the counselor on what his interests are -- maybe Pirates, or Video Games, or maybe hanging out at Andy's Room or saying Hello to Mike Wazowski at Monsters Academy. The counselors are patient and are very caring. They've got a big smile to welcome their little guests every single time they arrive at the Youth Clubs.

I think there will be more activities for him at the Club compared to the Nursery. If you think that may be a little too much, and he might prefer the quiet space that It's a Small World Nursery offers, you should check it out as well.  Your 3 year old will surely be amazed with all that he will see and do!
