    Hi there, we have complimentary tickets to we won in a raffle. We have made our reservation, I have tried to add genie+ to them and it says not eligible, guest must enter park. Do I have to wait to till we enter the park to add the genie+ service?

    Hey there Angela! Welcome to planDisney. I'd be happy to help you with your Disney Genie + question.

    Currently, there are two ways to purchase Disney Genie+ service. You can add this service to your ticket at the time of purchase or you can purchase it once you have entered the park for the first time on the day of your reservation. Since you won these tickets and Disney Genie+ was not added on at the time of purchase, you will need to purchase it once you have entered the park for the first time that day.

    This is how I've utilized Disney Genie+ multiple times and I haven't had any issues. No matter how you purchase Disney Genie+, you are not able to select your first Lightning Lane selection until you are in the park. My tip is for you to make sure you have the Disneyland app downloaded ahead of time. This will allow you to log in and make sure your tickets and reservations are showing up in the app, which will be needed to make your purchase. Then finally, go ahead and add a credit card to your Disneyland app so that it will be that much quicker when you purchase Disney Genie+. To do this, click on the three lines at the bottom right-hand side of the screen, scroll down to "My Profile", and then click "Payment Method". Now you will be all set to purchase Disney Genie+ and get your first Lightning Lane selection in minutes after entering your starting park.

    My pro tip is to make sure you bring along a portable charger. Disney Genie+ service is such a great tool to maximize your time in the parks, but I find that having the Disneyland app open a lot on my phone means that my battery is low before the day is over. If you don't have a portable charger, there are FuelRod kiosks throughout the park that will allow you to purchase a charging device and exchange it out for newly charged ones as many times as you need throughout your stay.
