Hi Joanne!
Welcome to planDisney! I’ll admit I haven’t visited
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park yet, but I’ve already made plans for my first visit this summer. Like my favorite happy snowman says, “I don’t know why but I’ve always loved the idea of summer, and sun, and all things hot…”
Good news, Joanne! I reached out to a Cast Member to ask all about Typhoon Lagoon and they told me that there are complimentary beach chairs throughout Typhoon Lagoon. These are subject to availability, so I’d suggest arriving at the water park earlier in the day to find a good spot for you and your travel party to lounge in the sun.
I also asked about your bringing your own umbrella to the water park. I was told by this Cast Member that it would be up to the discretion of the Typhoon Lagoon Cast Members if you can bring your umbrella into the water park, so you’ll need to ask that day when you arrive. If you’re driving your own vehicle to Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll just need to return the umbrella to your car. If you’re taking the complimentary bus transportation from your Disney Resort hotel, I would probably leave the umbrella behind.
If you’d like to guarantee a shaded spot while you’re enjoying the day at Typhoon Lagoon, check out the
Beachcomber Shacks. These private shaded areas with seating, towels, cold water, and other amenities for your day in the sand can be rented for a fee based on which option you choose. Advance reservations are highly recommended for these Beachcomber Shacks, and you can book online through your My Disney Experience account or by calling the number listed under "
Tours, Recreation."
I hope this was helpful, Joanne. If you have any future questions, please
come visit me again at planDisney!
