For those of you that have completed a BCN Med Cruise is it possible to leave BCN the same day of debarkation. If it is possible, what would be the earliest flt time that would allow for adequate check in, security, customs etc for a same day departure.

    Ahoy, John!

How exciting that you're lining up the logistics and plans for taking the Med Cruise onboard the Disney Magic. I had the best dining experiences during that voyage, and my whole family learned so much from the wonderful port adventures offered at the different cities that we visited.

The Disney Magic returns to port at around 7am in Barcelona at the conclusion of this itinerary. You've still got a wonderful sit down breakfast waiting for you that morning - so I hope you don't miss taking it leisurely at the restaurant. It will be the same restaurant that you were assigned to have dinner at, the evening prior. Once the ship is ready and cleared by Customs, an announcement will be made onboard advising guests that they can head over to the gangway. There will likely be a line, so please be prepared for it. We were one of the last guests to exit the gangway, and it wasn't very crowded at all by the time we got to customs and baggage claim. But I do remember guests already lined up at the lobby exit early that morning, when we were just leaving our stateroom. These were guests who had early flights or transfers and needed to debark first.

You are able to secure airport ground transfers directly through Disney Cruise Line. Otherwise, you are also able to take a taxi at the port to take you to the Barcelona airport. It takes about 45 minutes or so to get to the airport depending on traffic. To be on the safe side, I would suggest taking a flight after 1:00pm. This allows you ample time to debark and travel to the airport (with some wiggle room). We experienced very long lines at the airport - so I'm glad that we had extra time.

If you did any shopping, try to take care of your VAT refunds onboard. Otherwise, you can also handle it at the airport right before your flight check-in. Please let us know if you have any additional questions that we can help with. You're gonna have an awesome vacation!
