Hi Amy! That is a great question! Thanks for bringing it to planDisney! I’m happy to walk you through the process of purchasing your tickets and making your Disney Park Pass reservations – both of which are necessary to enter any of the four Disney Parks! I’ll embed some helpful links in this answer to assist you with your planning!
You’ll start by deciding which days you’ll want to take your magical vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort! I recommend looking at the
Disney Park Pass Reservation Calendar to make sure that the parks are available during your planned travel dates. Then, you’ll want to go to the Walt Disney World Resort website to
create your My Disney Experience account. You’ll need this account in order to make all of your reservations and plans!
Next, once you identify your travel dates and create your account, you’ll want to
purchase your theme park tickets on the Walt Disney World Resort website! On the website, you’ll purchase park tickets for the number of days that you want to visit parks (you’ll specify the parks later). This would also be the time that you would want to book your
Walt Disney World Resort hotel. I always recommend purchasing a ticket/hotel vacation package. However, you can simply purchase tickets only if you just want to visit the parks or will be staying off property during your vacation.
Finally, after you’ve purchased your tickets, you will want to book your
Disney Park Pass reservations for the specific parks you wish to visit on specific dates of your vacation. You’ll be able to use your My Disney Experience account to make your Disney Park Pass Reservations!
Here’s a PRO TIP for you! You can always change Disney Park Pass reservations to different days (as long as the parks have availability). For example, if you decide you want to change the day you’re visiting Magic Kingdom Park, you can go into your My Disney Experience account and make the change!
That’s it, Amy! So, a quick review – 1) Decide travel dates, 2) Create your My Disney Experience account, 3) Purchase your tickets, 4) Make your Disney Park Pass Reservations!
Amy, it’s time to begin dreaming of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Feel free to come back to planDisney with any additional questions!
Happy Planning!
