Hi Michelle!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks for asking a question where we can "dish" on one of my favorite topics - dining! Whether you're trying the grey stuff (it's delicious!), having a Mickey-shaped snack, or enjoying your favorite character dining meal there are so many great benefits to the Disney Dining Plan.
Guests using the
Disney Dining Plan receive 1 Quick-Service Meal, 1 Table-Service Meal, and 1 Snack or Non-Alcoholic Beverage per night of stay as well as a Resort-Refillable Mug that you can use at Quick-Service locations inside any Disney Resorts Collection hotel. You can easily view which restaurants accept the Disney Dining Plan by
filtering restaurant results on the Walt Disney World Resort website. You can also filter your results further based on dining location, type of restaurant, character dining/dinner show, and much more. It's a great feature to help you plan your meals that I use frequently when getting ready for our trips! When you select a restaurant on the website, you can click on "View Dining Plans and Discounts" and then click "Dining Plans" to confirm how many meals will be redeemed at that location.
Michelle, you can also view this information on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App if you are making your advanced dining reservations there. Once you enter your party size, date, and preferred time, you will see a "Filters" icon at the top of the restaurants available. Here you can again select "Disney Dining Plan." When you click on a restaurant from that filtered list, you can double-check if two meals will be redeemed during your visit by scrolling to the bottom of the restaurant information. If you see a section labeled "Dining Plans," the message will inform you about using two meals at this location. If there is nothing noted, that restaurant only redeems one meal.
Typically, you'll find that two meals will be redeemed at signature dining locations and dinner shows such as
Cinderella's Royal Table,
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, and
Jiko - The Cooking Place. If character dining is on your list of "must-do" dining, you'll find that most of those locations only redeem one meal - a great value! A few of my favorite character dining locations that you may want to try on your visit are
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort,
Garden Grill at EPCOT, and
Tusker House Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Michelle, I hope this is helpful as you plan dining reservations for your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Please stop by and see us again with any questions you may have - we're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Kristi
