Comparing vacation packages. Am I able to add travel protection if I book my room (Animal Kingdom Lodge) only. I can save money by booking my park tickets through AAA. It seems that I am not permitted to add travel protection without adding park tix.

Hey howdy hey Teresa and welcome to planDisney!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has so many reasons to be excited for your upcoming trip in March. With all the wildlife to see on the Savana, the resort pools and of course the food, there is just so much to experience that this resort deserves a full day to try and take in all it has to offer! My girls really enjoyed walking to different parts of the resort and checking out the Savana for new animals to see. My wife and I loved experiencing the food offerings at Sanaa. The bread service alone is a big reason to head over to Kidani Villiage to experience this unique restaurant.

For many years I have always recommended that anyone planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort make sure to consider buying travel insurance to protect their vacation from unplanned experiences. Walt Disney World Resort does have a great protection plan that you do have the option of purchasing that usually comes up with package deals like you have experienced, but not so with room-only packages. You are still able to purchase the Travel Protection Plan that Disney offers by calling (407) 934-7639 and talking to a Cast Member. There are also so many other third-party options you might find online that might suit your needs as well. It never hurts to shop around.

I hope you have fun with your continued planning for your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any further questions please let us know, we love talking about all things Disney!

    Happy planning,
