Can you compare Baha Bay Day Pass to Atlantis Water Adventure? My kids will be 21, 18, and 15. We would be sailing on the Wish for a 4 day cruise in July.

Ahoy there, Amy! Welcome aboard planDisney! I see you're setting a course for adventure on your 4-Night Bahamian sailing aboard the Disney Wish

When you call on Nassau, there are usually 2 schools of thought: head to one of the famous resort destinations on a Port Adventure, or stay aboard the ship and make the most of your time aboard the newest, biggest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. You really can't go wrong either way, but if your heart is set on heading to either Baha Bay or Atlantis Aquaventure, I'll try to summarize my thoughts on the two VERY briefly:

    • If you pick Baha Bay, you'll discover a day that reminds me more of a day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. A true water park, this beachfront Port Adventure has more than 30 attractions, places to get food and beverages, family raft rides, speed slides, and even a surf simulator! There are also more laid-back options like a very relaxing "lazy river" and wave pool, that make for great lounging in the summer sun or shade - but in July, you'll likely be ready to get in the water!
    • Choosing Atlantis Aquaventure is like picking a combination of a very very exciting and themed hotel pool, aquarium, and shopping mall! You'll find water slides, natural-themed rapids, special effects, and yes, even that slide you've probably seen in the commercials that takes you underwater from a giant archeological dig site! If you've ever been to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, it's like those pools on super soldier serum.
I'd say you can't make a bad decision, but my pick would probably be Baha Bay for its more laid-back vibe. That said, if you and your crew have any interest in visiting a casino or are REALLY interested in sea life, I'd pick Atlantis.

No matter which exciting Port Adventure you choose, I hope you'll have an incredible time! The only essential I'd remind you to pack is plenty of sunscreen - the Bahamian sun in July can be extreme, and I've seen even a seasoned sunbather come back burnt enough to ruin the rest of their cruise! With only four nights to enjoy the Disney Wish, you won't want to miss a second!

Hopefully, that helps you refine your heading for your sailing, Amy! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others as you continue to plan, please drop us another line here at planDisney!

    Fair winds and following seas!
