Will there be communication from Disney World if they start expanding capacity limits and reducing social distance protocol now that Florida is in Phase 3? Im worried about taking family if Disney changes the safety measures they currently have in place.

    Hello, Emmy,

Thank you for sending your question to planDisney. Please know that Walt Disney World is taking many extra health and safety measures for guests and cast members .  To help assure guests of this, they are sharing updates about those with detailed information to Know Before You Go that I'd encourage you to read through.  Any changes that would be made to current procedures would be shared here.

Please know that Walt Disney World is limiting the number of guests that enter the park each day, so you will need to make theme park reservations beforehand through the Disney Park Pass system. There are also enhanced cleaning procedures being practiced, required face coverings, and temperature screenings to further promote new health and safety guidelines. Prior to your visit, you should download the My Disney Experience mobile app on a mobile device so that you can use it to place mobile food and beverage orders at participating restaurants. You can also use it to scan codes to see a digital menu. These steps will help reduce your contact with other people.

If you have a reservation at a Disney Resort Hotel, they are also implementing additional health and safety measures. Guests will see enhanced cleaning in the rooms that is detailed in the above link I provided.  Also, there are safety measures in place with Disney transportation that allow for social distancing or barriers when that can't take place. Taking advantage of Online Check-In will allow you to go directly to your room, so you have less contact with people.

If you do feel that you would rather cancel or postpone your trip, Walt Disney World does have a generous cancellation policy right now, too.  Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions about health and safety procedures or about your trip.

Wishing you a magical trip!  -Kara
