We are comming in Oct & are interested in touring some resorts. I was wondering if the people that stay in the campgrounds decorate their sites for Halloween like they do for Christmas? I think my grandson would love to see all the decorations.

Diane, Halloween at Fort Wilderness is quite the sight to see!  I have visited or stayed at the "Fort" during both holidays and I feel that it is the most incredible over Halloween!

This past Halloween we stayed in a cabin and had a golf cart rental and we even decorated both.  The camp sites go all out and you will see remarkable decorations that are high tech, cute, and over sized.  Even the golf carts will be to the extreme.  During the Halloween weekend they have a cart parade, pet parade, and decoration contest.  The Halloween spirit is serious business at Fort Wilderness.

If you are unable to visit on Halloween you won't be disappointed by coming earlier as many of the camp sites have their decorations up for several weeks before. Try for a night time visit when the lights, smoke, and special effects are in running order!
