Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kristy!
Wow! Your trip to
Walt Disney World with your school's band is going to be absolutely EPIC. Enjoy!
As both a teacher and a parent, I have chaperoned school trips to Walt Disney World for 15 years, and can say that these trips are truly unlike any other I've experienced. Because the specifics of your group's visit may have been put together through a combination of Walt Disney World Group Tour planners, your school's travel agent, your band's director, and even a school administrator, check with one of them to ensure that you have a miniature golf voucher included.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is currently closed for enhancements, so we'll look at Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course, which is adjacent to
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. A march from the water park to the mini golf-course and back will be easy, as there is a paved walkway to each from the parking lot/bus drop off area. Take a look at this
map of Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course and nearby Blizzard Beach Water Park for more details. A first day of both water park AND mini-golf fun will ensure that your trip is anything but flat.
Regarding your home resort, my school stays at
Disney's All-Star Music Resort, too, so I know that your school band trip will have a perfect place to call "home" when they are at rest during your visit.
Intermission Food Court is the perfect place for the group to checkin with each other, with plenty of seating for large groups as they queue up before heading off to days of fabulous fun as well as days of pixie-dusted performance.
Have so much fun as you put all of your notes into place, Kristy! Be sure to send more questions as you think of them, too. We love to help!
