Hi. I am coming to Ft. Wilderness in September and I have to use a scooter. Am I allowed to use it to get to transportation at the campsite to get to the boats?

Howdy Tammy and welcome to planDisney!

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Resort at Walt Disney World!  I grew up camping there in the summers and now I love taking my own kids to make new memories at the Fort.  I just love the tranquility of the property and being hugged by nature, but knowing I'm so close to the magic.  The best mornings are spent outside with a cup of coffee listening to the whistle of the trains from the Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom Park.

You can absolutely use your ECV scooter to go anywhere at Fort Wilderness.  There is a bus stop near every campsite or cabin loop and they are all accessible to accommodate an ECV.  You will take one of the internal buses down to the Settlement Depot where the marina is to catch a water taxi to Magic Kingdom Park.  My mom also uses an ECV and in my experience, not every boat that picks up at Fort Wilderness can accommodate an ECV, but one will come for you if it's not the first one to show up.  I suggest you give yourself extra time in case you have a longer wait.

Be sure to check out Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long while you are there!  It makes for such a fun evening to hang out with these two troublemakers while roasting marshmallows by the fire.  It's one of our favorite things to do when we stay there.  You can bring your own goodies for s'mores or you can purchase a kit at the Chuckwagon Snack Bar.

Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
